3.2 Brush tips. The assembly shall be furnished with 3 natural bristle tips as follows:
a. Brush tip No. 1. Regular texture bristles that when fitted in the steel ferrule shall extend 1.0 inch from the end of the ferrule. This brush tip is safe for use on ESD sensitive parts.
b. Brush tip No. 2. Regular texture bristles that when fitted in the steel ferrule shall extend 0.375 inch from the end of the ferrule. The soft texture bristle provides only slow solvent flow.
3.3 Solvent. The solvent shall be furnished in a self-pressurized metal container with 90% by weight reagent grade, anhydrous isopropyl alcohol and 10% by weight HFC-134a propellant. The net weight of each container shall be not less than 10 ounces.
3.3.1 Container labels. Each container shall be labeled in accordance with CFR Title 49 and other applicable regulations and shall include the following directions for use and precautions:
CAUTION: FLAMMABLE LIQUID. Contents under pressure. Keep away from heat or flame. Turn power off prior to use.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
After the power is turned off, the applicator with Brush Tip No. 1 may be used to clean electrical connector plugs: Place brush on male or female plug, activate solvent flow while agitating the brush. Repeat to rinse. The same procedure may be used to clean solder flux from spot repairs. IMPORTANT: Allow solvent to evaporate prior to assembling plugs or applying power to equipment.
4.0 Regulatory requirements.
4.1 Metric products. Assemblies manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest version of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this Commercial Item Description are met. When an assembly is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the preparing activity to determine if the assembly is acceptable. The preparing activity has the option of accepting or rejecting the assembly.
5.0 Quality assurance provisions.
5.1 Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the assembly offered meets the salient
