Analytical requirements.
Chemical analysis for available chlorine shall be made in accordance with Chlorine (Residual)/Amperometric Titration Method or equivalent method of the American Public Health Association Methods for the Examination of Water and Waste Water.
C ontractor's c ertificati on .
The contractor shall certify, and maintain objective quality evidence, that the product offered meets this commercial item description, and that the product conforms to the producer's own specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformation prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Regulatory requirements.
The delivered product shall comply with all applicable Federal and State mandatory requirements and regulations relating to the preparation, packaging, labeling, storage,
distribution, and sales of the product in the commercial marketplace. The delivered product shall conform with all applicable provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, and regulations promulgated thereunder. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable,
in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking.
The water purification sachets shall be preserved, packaged, packed, labeled and case marked in accordance with good commercial practice. Commercial labeling and packaging, as may be augmented by the solicitation, contract, or purchase order, shall be acceptable. Shipping containers shall comply with the National Motor Freight Classification or Uniform Freight Classification, as applicable.
For Department of Defense procurements (Only).
A. Preservation, Packing, and Marking. Unless otherwise specified (see sections B, C, D, E, F, and G), preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the acquisition order (See section J-1).
B. Packaging. Each sachet's contents shall be sealed in a heat sealed laminated pouch. The pouch material shall be a three-ply material made by laminating, from outside to inside, 25 to 30 pounds basis weight (24 by 36-500) kraft or sulfite paper, 0.00035 to 0.0005 inch thick aluminum foil, and 0.002 inch to 0.003 inch thick polyethylene. The material shall show no
evidence of delamination after heat sealing. When specified, the complete exterior surface of the
